Pegasus Airlines Check-In: Deadlines, Boarding Pass and Airport Steps

The Pegasus online check-in window opens 7 days before departure. It closes 60 minutes before departure for international flights and flights to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and 45 minutes before departure for domestic Turkish flights.

The time that counts is the local departure time shown on your booking, not the time in your home city. Once the window has closed, only the airline at the airport can process your file.

According to information published by the airline, a passenger who is not at the boarding gate 20 minutes before the flight loses all rights linked to that flight. It is therefore best to aim to be at the gate well ahead of the minimum times shown in the table.

Check-in is done through the Check-in section of flypgs.com or through the Pegasus mobile app. Two pieces of information are enough to open your file: the booking reference (PNR), shown on the confirmation email and also sent by SMS after buying the ticket, and the passenger's surname exactly as entered at booking. Pegasus does not require online check-in: counters and self-service kiosks remain available at the airport. That said, checking in online secures your assigned seat and removes the need to rely on how busy the counter is on departure day.

Seat selection is made when buying the ticket or at check-in. At Pegasus, seat selection is one of the paid extras on offer; without a purchase, a seat is assigned automatically.

A single booking can cover several passengers: check that every name is properly checked in and that you get one boarding pass per person, children included.

Once check-in is complete, Pegasus issues a boarding pass that you can receive as a mobile version or print, from either the website or the app. It is shown to staff at security checks and then at boarding.

The mobile format requires being able to display the document on your phone at the airport. If you prefer a paper copy, printing the boarding pass is still offered at check-in.

Some airports and local authorities still require a counter visit, particularly for destinations requiring a visa. This is a local rule, not a blanket Pegasus policy: check this point with the airline before departure.

Boarding pass in hand, document checks are still required: you must present a photo ID (identity card, driver's license, passport) for domestic flights, and a passport for international flights. The name on the boarding pass and on your ID document must match.

Online check-in does not remove the need to go to the counter when a bag is checked into the hold. Drop-off must happen before the counters close, that is 45 minutes before departure on domestic flights and 60 minutes before departure on international flights. Without checked baggage, you can head straight to the plane with your boarding pass, as shown in the airline's diagram.

On busy departures (Paris, Lyon, Marseille to Istanbul), allow yourself a comfortable margin: security queues, passport control and terminal transfers quickly eat into any head start. Check the exact counter closing time shown on your booking.

At some airports, self-service kiosks let you finish check-in and print your boarding pass by entering your PNR. Their availability depends on the airport; outside Turkey, Pegasus departures are often handled at standard counters.

For baggage, the free allowance depends on the fare bought and any options added to the booking: Pegasus sells extra allowance as a paid add-on. A checked item must not exceed 32 kg; beyond that, it will not be accepted in the hold. The rules for cabin and checked baggage should be checked online after buying the ticket, as they can vary between fares.

Several situations can cause an error message or a "online check-in not available for this flight" notice:

• The window has not opened yet: the system will only respond from 7 days before departure.
• The window has closed: 60 minutes before departure on international flights, 45 minutes before departure on domestic flights. In that case, go to the counter before check-in closes.
• The PNR or surname does not match: a ticket bought through an agency or comparison site sometimes carries an agency reference different from the Pegasus PNR, and a double-barrelled surname must be entered exactly as shown on the ticket.
• The booking needs manual review: a passenger needing assistance, an unaccompanied minor, an animal in the cabin, sports equipment or a group booking. These cases are usually handled at the counter.
• Documents need to be checked for the destination (visa, travel authorisation): check-in is then redirected to the airport.

If the issue persists, the Pegasus help centre and the airline's customer service are the right contacts to unblock a booking, along with the issuing agency if the ticket was not bought directly.
