Sky Express Online Check-In: Boarding Pass and Deadlines

Online check-in becomes available 48 hours before departure. Based on the information the airline publishes, it stays open until roughly 3 hours before the scheduled departure time; after that, your booking moves over to the airport counters.

When the counter closes depends on the airport: 40 minutes before departure at Greek airports, and 50 minutes before departure at airports outside Greece. The airline also notes that the airport can get very busy depending on the time of day. Plan to arrive well ahead of the stated cutoff and double-check the exact time shown on your booking.

The process runs through the Check-in section of the airline's official website, skyexpress.gr. You'll need the booking reference and the passenger name exactly as they appear on your confirmation. The boarding pass comes as a PDF file, so the device you use needs to be able to open it, and the document can be printed or kept on a mobile phone.

Two limits are worth knowing. Online check-in isn't offered for flights departing from Yerevan, where going to the counter is the only option. And seat selection follows its own timeline: it's available up to 48 hours before departure through Manage My Booking, then up to 3 hours before departure through the Check-in option.

Make sure to you have all your necessary travel documents: a valid ID card or passport, plus a visa or entry permit if your destination requires one.

Being checked in doesn't mean skipping the bag drop when you have a suitcase going into the hold. The airline recommends arriving at the airport at least 2 hours before departure to allow enough time, given that the counter closes 40 minutes before departure at Greek airports.

• With checked baggage: go to the counter or bag drop before the closing time that applies to your airport.
• Without checked baggage: head straight to the gate, no later than 20 minutes before departure.
• Special assistance and unaccompanied minors: report to the counters 90 minutes before departure.

Your baggage allowance depends on the fare you purchased (SKY offer, SKY joy, SKY joy+, SKY enjoy, BLISS). Check that your cabin bag's size and weight match your fare type, otherwise extra fees may apply. Adding excess baggage or an extra piece costs more if bought at the airport than if added in advance when booking online.

Several situations explain a rejection when trying to complete online check-in. The booking reference may be mistyped, or the name entered may not match the one on the ticket. For departures from Yerevan, the feature simply isn't offered. Passengers needing special assistance and unaccompanied children are expected at the counters 90 minutes before departure.

If the online window has already closed, check-in can still be done at the airport, within the closing times listed above.
