Air Moana Online Check-In and Boarding Pass
Air Moana connects Tahiti-Faa'a with the islands of French Polynesia, and its check-in windows are tighter than on a long-haul flight. Online check-in opens 30 hours before departure and closes one hour before takeoff, while airport counters close 30 minutes before departure. This page brings together the key deadlines, the steps to get your boarding pass, and the situations that require a visit to a counter.

When Air Moana check-in opens and closes
Air Moana online check-in becomes available 30 hours before departure and stays open until 1 hour before the flight. After that, you need to head to the counters at the departure airport.
| Step | Deadline |
|---|---|
| Online check-in opens | 30 hours before departure |
| Online check-in closes | 1 hour before departure |
| Counters open (Tahiti-Faa'a and Bora Bora) | 1 h 30 before departure |
| Counters close | 30 minutes before departure |
| Checked baggage drop-off | up to 30 minutes before departure |
| Arrival at the boarding gate | no later than 20 minutes before departure |
These times apply across the airports served by the airline, though the setup differs from one stop to another: at Bora Bora, the airport sits on a motu, and Air Moana runs a boat shuttle that leaves the Vaitape dock 1 h 15 before the flight's scheduled departure time. Give yourself plenty of margin, and double-check the exact departure time shown on your booking, since it may have changed since purchase.
Checking in online on the Air Moana website
Check-in is done from the Online Check-In page on the airline's official website. Two pieces of information are required: your last name and your 6-character alphanumeric booking reference. If you booked through a travel agency or a third-party site, this reference appears in the top right corner of your e-ticket and in your confirmation email.
The process then involves selecting the flights and passengers concerned, then downloading or printing your boarding pass. Air Moana doesn't offer the option to add extra services at this stage: excess baggage, for instance, is purchased at the counters during airport check-in, subject to availability.
Online check-in isn't open to everyone. It isn't available for passengers using the Unaccompanied Minors service, for those traveling with a pet or a service animal, or for passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility. Groups and charters also check in with ground staff at the Air Moana counters of the departure airport.
Boarding pass: format, seating and documents
Once checked in, your boarding pass can be printed or downloaded onto a phone or tablet. Both formats are accepted by the airline.
Seat assignment follows a particular logic at Air Moana: with a Premium fare, the seat is assigned as soon as you check in online. For other passengers, it's assigned at the counters, and ground staff hand over the seat number along with the boarding pass when you go through the counter or reach the boarding area.
At the document check, present a valid identity document as well as any other document made necessary by your situation: disability card, medical certificate, or a specific form depending on your situation. Check the validity date of your ID before your departure day.
Baggage, counters and boarding at the airport
Checking in online doesn't automatically mean you can skip the counter. If you're traveling with checked baggage, going through the Air Moana check-in counters is mandatory to check it in and drop it off, no later than 30 minutes before departure.
With a single carry-on bag that meets the airline's requirements, however, you can head straight to the boarding area with your digital or printed boarding pass and your ID.
At Tahiti-Faa'a, the counters are located at desks 21-43 of the international terminal, and it's the only airport in the network where security checks must be cleared. At Bora Bora, the counters are in the main terminal. A priority line is available for Premium passengers. Boarding is organized by row: it generally opens 20 minutes before departure and closes a few minutes before takeoff, these times being given by the airline as a guide.
Failed check-in, booking not found: what to do
If online check-in rejects your booking, start by checking that your last name matches exactly what's on the reservation and that you've entered the 6 characters of the booking reference correctly. A booking that falls under a non-eligible case, such as traveling with a pet or requiring special assistance, won't open online: check-in will then need to happen at the counter.
If the online window has already closed, the counters remain available, up to 30 minutes before departure. Arriving after this deadline, or after boarding has closed, puts you at risk of being denied boarding: if you're running late, you may not be accepted on the flight. To change a date or add a service, go through the Manage My Booking section of the airline's website, or contact the Air Moana reservations service or agencies. Online check-in can also be handled by iBoardingPass, which then sends the boarding pass by email.
