Uzbekistan Airways Online Check-in and Boarding Pass
Uzbekistan Airways offers online check-in for its flights, with a boarding pass sent by email to the address you provide. The opening and closing windows are tight, and the airline still requires a paper document at many airports. This page brings together the deadlines, the steps to follow, and what to expect at the counter, whether you fly out of Tashkent or from abroad.

When check-in opens and when it closes
Uzbekistan Airways online check-in opens 23.92 hours before departure, meaning just under 24 hours before scheduled departure. The closing time depends on the type of flight: on domestic routes (Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Urgench), it closes 1 hour before departure. On international flights, online check-in closes earlier, so plan to be checked in well ahead of time and confirm the exact deadline on your booking.
These times are based on the local time at the departure airport. If your flight schedule changes at the last minute, the time shown on your booking is the one that counts, so check it again the day before. Give yourself plenty of margin rather than aiming for the very last minute, since the window closes automatically once the deadline passes.
Where and how to check in: website, personal account, app
Check-in is done through the Online registration section of the airline's official website, uzairways.com, or from your Personal account. Uzbekistan Airways also offers a mobile app for iOS and Android.
To be identified, you will generally need:
- your ticket number or booking reference, or your UzAirPlus card number;
- your surname written in Latin characters, exactly as it appears on the ticket;
- a valid email address and a contact phone number, since the boarding pass is sent to that address.
The service is open to all passengers of the airline, whether the ticket was bought through an agency or directly on the airline's website. When confirming your check-in, two options are available: choosing a specific seat, which involves an extra charge, or being assigned a seat automatically at no extra cost. The paid seat selection can be settled in UZS, USD, RUB or CNY.
Your boarding pass: paper or mobile
This is the point not to overlook with Uzbekistan Airways: a valid identity document is required at check-in at the airport: passport for an adult passenger and birth certificate for a child; foreign passport and visa if necessary. In other words, checking in from home does not always mean you can skip printing.
The airline provides three ways to obtain the printed document:
- print it yourself before leaving;
- have it printed by a check-in agent at the airport counter;
- print it at a self-service kiosk, where the airport has one, by presenting the boarding pass QR code on your phone or tablet screen to the kiosk scanner.
The airline also allows a mobile boarding pass downloaded to your phone to be presented. Since the paper requirement applies at every airport in Uzbekistan and at some airports abroad, the safest approach remains to arrive with a printed copy. If you plan to collect your boarding pass at the airport, do so before check-in for your flight closes.
Baggage and getting through the airport
Online check-in does not replace baggage drop. If you are travelling with a bag to be checked into the hold, the airline asks you to go to the check-in counter 1 hour before departure. Your carry-on bag must meet the airline's hand luggage rules, which can vary according to your fare and cabin class.
Without hold luggage, going to the counter is not required for check-in itself: all you need is your boarding pass, whether printed at home, at the counter, or at a self-service kiosk where one is available.
The airline recommends arriving at the airport with plenty of time to complete the formalities. On international flights, allow extra time for passport and visa checks: the airline states that the passenger is fully responsible for holding the required visas and entry documents.
Special cases and common issues
Online check-in is not available on every route. The system may show a message stating that web check-in is not offered for that destination, or that the passenger cannot be found. If this happens, check the spelling of your name in Latin letters as it appears on the ticket, along with the ticket number, then go to the airport counter within the deadlines mentioned above.
Certain travel situations follow special procedures handled directly by the airline (stretcher transport, travelling with an animal, advanced pregnancy, for example): contact the airline's customer service before departure, since check-in may then need to take place at the counter. Travellers who prefer it can have their online check-in carried out by iBoardingPass, which completes it as soon as the airline's check-in opens and sends the boarding pass by email.
Frequently asked questions
What time does Uzbekistan Airways online check-in open?
It opens 23.92 hours before departure, just under 24 hours before the scheduled departure time, based on the local time at the departure airport.
Until when can I check in online?
On domestic flights, online check-in closes 1 hour before departure. On international flights, it closes earlier, so rely on the departure time shown on your booking and check in well in advance.
Do I need to print my Uzbekistan Airways boarding pass?
In most cases, yes: a valid identity document is required at check-in at the airport: passport for an adult passenger and birth certificate for a child; foreign passport and visa if necessary. Printing is possible at home, through check-in agents, or, where available, at kiosks that read the QR code displayed on your phone.
I'm travelling with checked baggage, what does online check-in change?
You must still go to the counter to drop off your bag, arriving 1 hour before departure.
Why is online check-in refused for me?
The service is not offered on every route: in that case the system shows that web check-in is unavailable for that destination. The message can also appear if the name or ticket number was entered incorrectly. Check-in then takes place at the airport counter.
Is seat selection included?
During online check-in, a seat may be assigned automatically at no extra charge. Choosing a specific seat yourself involves an extra payment, which can be settled in UZS, USD, RUB or CNY.
Can I check in if I bought my ticket through an agency?
Yes. Online check-in is open to all Uzbekistan Airways passengers, whether the ticket came from an agency or the airline's website.
