Flynas online check-in and boarding pass
Flynas, the Saudi low-cost carrier based in Riyadh, offers check-in through flynas.com and its mobile app, but only for certain flights and certain departure airports. The rest of the time, everything happens at the airport counter, under a strict cut-off time. This page brings together the deadlines, the procedure and the pitfalls to know before your flight.

When flynas check-in opens and closes
Online check-in opens a certain amount of time before departure, and this window can vary depending on the flight: it appears once you enter your booking reference. It is worth checking the day before rather than waiting until the day itself.
The closing time, however, is fixed: check-in and baggage drop close 60 minutes before departure. Past this deadline, the counter no longer accepts passengers, even those holding a valid ticket. Allow yourself a comfortable margin at the airport, particularly on international flights and during peak periods (Ramadan, Hajj, Saudi school holidays), when queues grow longer in Riyadh, Jeddah or Dammam.
| Step | Deadline |
|---|---|
| Checked baggage drop | 60 minutes before departure |
| Check-in closes | 60 minutes before departure |
Boarding at the gate closes even earlier than the departure time: head to the boarding area without delay once you have cleared security checks.
Online or on the app: where check-in is possible
A key point with flynas: online check-in does not cover the entire network. According to the airline's public information, it is only offered through flynas.com and the flynas app, and only for some flights and departure airports. If your airport is not eligible, present yourself at the counter with your documents.
On flynas.com, the process starts from the Online check-in entry: you enter your booking reference along with your email or your name, select the flight and passengers, then retrieve your boarding passes. On the flynas app, the steps are identical, starting from the online check-in section.
Manage My Booking also lets you change a flight, add services and start check-in from the same space.
Your flynas boarding pass
Once check-in is confirmed, the boarding pass becomes available for download. It can be used on your phone through the app or printed out, depending on what the airport and local authorities accept: some stopovers still require a stop at the counter for a document check before security screening.
When you receive it, check that the name matches your passport exactly, that the flight number and time are correct, and that every passenger on the booking has their own boarding pass. If you are travelling as a group or family, retrieve all the boarding passes in a single session to avoid missing one.
Seat selection, priority service (faster check-in and early boarding) and upgrades to Premium Class are purchased separately through Manage My Booking.
Baggage and getting through the airport
Checking in online does not exempt you from a counter visit as soon as you have a checked bag: baggage drop closes 60 minutes before departure, the same cut-off as check-in.
Allowances depend on the fare purchased: the most economical fares in the flynas network do not automatically include checked baggage, and extra weight can be added in advance through Manage My Booking, generally cheaper than at the counter. Cabin baggage dimensions and weight, along with the rules for sports equipment, special baggage and live animals, are detailed on the airline's official website: check them before you travel, as they determine whether you get through the gate.
Common issues and solutions
Booking reference rejected: make sure you are using the reference shown on your flynas confirmation, matched with the exact passenger name or the email used for the booking. Tickets bought through an agency or tour operator sometimes carry a different reference from the airline's own one.
Unable to check in online: this is most often due to the departure airport not being covered by online check-in, or the flight being operated by a partner. Some situations are also always handled at the counter: unaccompanied minors, special assistance, travelling with an animal, or a travel document that needs checking for the destination.
Boarding pass not received or lost: go back through the check-in process with your booking reference to download it again, or present yourself at the counter with your passport. In case of a late arrival, a schedule change or a name error, contact flynas customer service or speak directly to airport staff, as only they are authorised to amend a booking that has already been checked in. Online check-in can also be carried out by iBoardingPass, which takes care of it as soon as it opens and sends the boarding pass by email.
Frequently asked questions
When can I check in for a flynas flight?
The online check-in window opens before departure and its length can vary depending on the flight. It closes 60 minutes before departure; the exact time for your flight appears in your booking.
Is flynas online check-in available from every airport?
No. The airline only offers it for some of its flights and departure airports. Elsewhere, check-in takes place at the airport counter; the check-in screen will tell you whether your flight is covered.
What time does baggage drop close at flynas?
Baggage drop closes 60 minutes before departure, at the same time as check-in. Plan to arrive well ahead of this deadline, especially during busy periods.
How do I get my flynas boarding pass?
Once check-in is confirmed on flynas.com, the boarding pass is available for download for every passenger on the booking. On the flynas app, it appears after you select the flight and passengers.
What should I do if I cannot check in online?
First check your booking reference and departure airport. Certain traveller profiles (unaccompanied minors, special assistance, an animal in the cabin, document checks for the destination) are handled at the counter, so arrive at the airport with enough time to spare.
Do I still need to go to the counter if I checked in online?
Yes, as soon as you have checked baggage, which must be dropped off no later than 60 minutes before departure. A counter visit may also be required for a document check depending on the airport and destination.
