Biman Bangladesh Airlines Online Check-in and Boarding Pass

Biman Bangladesh Airlines web check-in opens 24 hours before departure. Closing time depends on the type of flight: 3 hours before departure on domestic flights, with an earlier cutoff on international flights. These times are calculated using the local time at the departure airport, not your own.

For a round trip where the return flight departs within 24 hours, the airline states that return check-in is processed once the first leg has been completed. On long-haul flights departing from Dhaka, allow plenty of time: the online check-in cutoff falls well before the boarding gate closing time.

Check-in is done through the Web Check-In section of the airline's website. The form asks for your flight number, or your six-character PNR, or your ticket number, along with the passenger's booking details.

Two points deserve attention before you confirm:

• Biman states that once web check-in is completed, ticket exchange, refunds, purchasing extra baggage and cancelling the check-in are no longer permitted. If you have any doubt about your date or your baggage allowance, sort it out beforehand.
• Emergency exit row seats are subject to safety conditions and may not be offered online: airport staff confirm or reassign the seating.

The airline also provides a mobile app, linked from its website. It is not mandatory for travel: the web check-in process remains available to eligible passengers.

Once check-in is accepted, the boarding pass is issued by the airline and can be kept in electronic form or printed. Check straight away that your name is spelled correctly, along with the flight number and boarding time.

On international flights, particularly those departing from Bangladesh, a stop at the counter is generally still required for passport, visa and travel document checks, even if your boarding pass has already been issued. Factor this into your schedule.

If you are travelling with checked baggage, having a boarding pass does not remove the need to drop off your bags: head to the Biman counters, or to the bag drop where the airport provides one, before the check-in deadline.

In the cabin, Biman allows one bag measuring up to 56 x 36 x 23 cm (20 x 15 x 10 inches), handle, pockets and wheels included cm, including handle, pockets and wheels. The weight allowance is 10 kg in Business Class (two pieces in total), while Economy Class is limited to 7 kg for a single piece. In addition, a few personal items such as a handbag, a coat, an umbrella, a laptop or reading material are allowed without being counted, subject to local restrictions.

For checked baggage, the allowance varies by region, direction of travel and class: on domestic flights, it is 20 kg in Economy and 30 kg in Business, while several Gulf routes offer more on the return journey to Bangladesh. On flights to or from the United States and Canada, the airline applies a piece-based policy, with an allowance of 23 kg per bag in Economy Class and a maximum size per suitcase.

The allowance printed on your ticket remains the reference, particularly for special fare classes: Class S includes no checked baggage, regardless of the route.

Online check-in refused. This happens when the booking includes a waitlisted segment, an interline ticket issued with another airline, or when the details entered do not exactly match the booking record. In these cases, check-in is done at the counter.

Misspelled name. Biman states that the name must be entered exactly as it appears on the passport, and that once a booking is made, a correction is not always possible: the ticket may need to be cancelled or refunded, with fees applying, and a new ticket issued in the correct name.

Date error discovered after check-in. Since ticket exchange is no longer permitted once check-in has been completed, contact the airline right away rather than waiting until departure day.

Late arrival. A passenger who does not present themselves at the Biman counter within the check-in deadline set for their flight may be treated as a no-show, with the consequences set out in their ticket's fare rules. It is best to arrive at the airport well ahead of time for an international flight.
