Bangkok Airways Online Check-In and Boarding Pass
Bangkok Airways (code PG) offers check-in on its website, on mobile, at self-service kiosks in its Thai airports, and at counters. Timings differ depending on the channel you choose and whether your flight is domestic or international, which changes the time you need to be at the airport. This page brings together the deadlines, required documents and the steps to follow between getting your boarding pass and reaching the gate.

Online check-in and kiosk check-in open 24 hours before departure. According to the airline's published information, both channels remain available until 1 hour before departure, while web check-in and mobile check-in shown on some Bangkok Airways pages close 2 hours before departure: plan for the shorter window and finish your check-in well ahead of time.
At the airport counter, closing time is 50 minutes before departure. For domestic Thai flights, counters generally close 40 minutes before departure. These times can vary from one airport to another, so check the exact time shown on your booking or with a Bangkok Airways sales office.

Online check-in, mobile check-in and automatic check-in
Bangkok Airways online check-in is done through the airline's website or from a phone: you retrieve your booking, choose your seat and get an electronic boarding pass. The airline also offers an automatic check-in service: if you've signed up for it and haven't checked in yourself, check-in is carried out 12 hours before departure time and the boarding pass is sent by email.
All passengers holding an e-ticket with a confirmed booking can generally use these channels. The airline excludes in particular:
- passengers needing medical or special assistance;
- unaccompanied minors;
- passengers whose ticket requires an additional payment;
- passengers travelling on a discounted fare that requires proof to be shown at check-in;
- depending on the channel, groups of more than 9 people on the same booking and tickets carrying a codeshare flight number.
If you need to change your booking after checking in, the airline asks you to contact its call centre (1771 in Thailand) or the check-in staff at the departure airport.
Self-service kiosks at Thai airports
Bangkok Airways kiosks are available for flights departing from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang), Koh Samui, Krabi, Chiang Mai, Hat Yai and Phuket. They open 24 hours before departure and issue a boarding pass.
At Suvarnabhumi, kiosks are located on the 4th floor of the main terminal, along with the self-service baggage drop points (rows D and E, also B, C, J and R) and the assistance counter (rows D10 to D19). At Don Mueang, kiosks and baggage drop are on the 3rd floor of Terminal 2. The exact location of counters varies by airport, including at Chiang Mai, Hat Yai, Krabi, Phuket, Trat, Sukhothai, U-Tapao and across the international network (Hong Kong, Luang Prabang, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Singapore, Malé).
Your boarding pass and document checks
The boarding pass obtained online, at a kiosk or through automatic check-in is used to pass through security and board. On mobile, it's the QR code that is shown to security and to the boarding gate agent.
It does not replace document checks. On international flights, passengers checked in online, through automatic check-in or at a kiosk must go to the self-service counter at least 90 minutes before departure for travel document verification and checked baggage drop. At the airport, you need to present your passport, official identity card or original travel document at check-in. For international flights, the passport must be valid at least 6 months after the departure date, with a valid visa if required, for international flights. When the ticket was bought on the Bangkok Airways website or paid for by phone, the airline asks passengers to present the credit card used at check-in.
Baggage, drop-off and arrival at the gate
If you have checked baggage after a mobile check-in, go to the counter with photo ID 2 hours before departure. On domestic flights, passengers already checked in and travelling with checked baggage should arrive at least 60 minutes before departure and go to the bag drop counter. At Suvarnabhumi, passengers checked in online, through automatic check-in or at a kiosk who have checked baggage are directed to the self-service baggage drop, where tags can be printed.
Carry-on baggage is limited to 7 kg and must be placed in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you. Without checked baggage on a domestic flight, you can head straight to the gate with your boarding pass.
The airline asks passengers to be at the gate at least 40 minutes before departure on international flights and 30 minutes on domestic flights. For international flights departing from Suvarnabhumi, arrival at the gate is set at 60 minutes before departure to check documents required by the destination country. The gate closes 15 minutes before departure time.
Connections, delays and special cases
Bangkok Airways applies minimum connection times: 90 minutes for international to domestic, domestic to international and international to international journeys, and 75 minutes for domestic to domestic. With separate tickets or a shorter connection time, the airline states that the passenger bears responsibility for a missed connection.
For departures from a Thai airport, the airline recommends arriving at least 1 hour 30 minutes before a domestic flight and at least 2 hours before an international flight, and clearing security 90 minutes before a domestic flight and 120 minutes before an international flight. If online check-in doesn't work (codeshare ticket, fare requiring proof, additional payment due), the airport counter remains the solution, provided you arrive before it closes. This check-in can also be handled by iBoardingPass.
