Jazeera Airways Online Check-In and Boarding Pass

Jazeera Airways (code J9), a Kuwaiti carrier based at Terminal 5 of Kuwait International Airport, operates without paper tickets: your six-character booking reference is what identifies you. Online check-in lets you obtain your boarding pass before reaching the airport, within a specific time window. This page brings together the schedule, the documents required, what happens at the counters, and the situations where online check-in on its own is not enough.

When check-in opens and when it closes

With Jazeera Airways, check-in opens 3 hours before departure and closes 60 minutes before departure. This window applies to the flight in question, not to the whole itinerary: on a round trip, each segment is checked in separately, at its own time.

Once the deadline has passed, the system no longer accepts the process, whether online or at the counter, and the booking may be treated as a no-show. The airline's conditions of carriage set a check-in deadline before which formalities must be complete and the boarding pass issued: check the exact time shown on your confirmation.

Checking in online or through the app

Online check-in is done on the Jazeera Airways website, under Manage Booking / My trips, or through the Jazeera Airways mobile app. You need to enter the booking reference (six alphanumeric characters) and the passenger's name, then follow the steps through to seat assignment.

Seat selection is a paid extra depending on the fare purchased: seat and baggage options are add-ons sold by the airline, and checking in early does not make them free. If no seat has been purchased, the airline assigns one.

Certain situations generally prevent completing the process online and send you to the counter instead: a booking that has been changed or is awaiting payment, or a visa and document check that must be carried out in person. The airline also handles requests such as unaccompanied minors, wheelchair assistance or travelling with a pet separately, as described in its dedicated sections.

Your Jazeera Airways boarding pass

Once check-in is confirmed, the boarding pass is sent by email to the address on the booking and remains available in the app. It can be used in mobile or printed form: some airports and some checks still require a paper version, and the airline's Early Check-In service in Kuwait requires you to have your boarding pass with you. If in doubt, print it.

Check the document for the exact name as it appears on the passport, the flight number, the terminal and the boarding time. A name error cannot be corrected online: it has to be handled with the airline's customer service before departure day.

If the email does not arrive, the boarding pass can be retrieved again from Manage Booking using the six-character reference. As long as check-in has not closed, this remains possible.

At the airport: counters, baggage and documents

Even when checked in ahead of time, you still need to go through baggage drop if you are travelling with checked luggage, and present yourself at the checks with your travel documents. For check-in, you must present your booking confirmation number or itinerary/receipt along with a valid passport with all documents/visas required for your trip. Responsibility for visas and entry permits remains with the passenger.

In Kuwait, Jazeera Airways operates from its own Terminal 5. The airline offers an Early Check-In service at the Park&Fly counters, a short distance from Kuwait International Airport, opposite the Amari Terminal: according to information published by the airline, it is available from 6 to 36 hours before the flight, open 24 hours a day, payable by card only, at a rate of 3 KWD per passenger, with the requirement to be at Terminal 5 at least one hour before departure. This service sets a limit of 7 kg of hand luggage per person.

Baggage allowance depends on the fare purchased and the route: check the airline's Baggage Allowance section for your booking, as well as the Baggage Upgrades options offered before departure.

Common issues and solutions

Unable to check in online: the window may not have opened yet, or something in the booking needs checking (travel document, payment, flight change). In this case, going to the airline's counter is the normal route, allowing extra time.

Reference not recognised: use the six-character code shown on your Jazeera confirmation, not the file number from a travel agency or third-party booking site.

Late arrival: once the deadline has passed, boarding is refused and any flight change follows the ticket's fare conditions, with possible fees. Departing from Kuwait, allow extra time before the deadline, as passport and security formalities can take a while.

Finally, a traveller who would rather not keep track of when check-in opens can hand this task to iBoardingPass, which carries out online check-in on their behalf as soon as it opens and sends them their boarding pass by email.
